Background

TxC hails from Gqeberha, located in the Eastern Cape of South Africa. The duo consists of childhood friends Tarryn Reid and Clairise Hefke, both of Coloured ancestry. Their journey into music was inspired by their ex-boyfriends, who were also DJs, sparking their passion for the craft. Both members graduated from the Kue DJ Academy, a specialized DJ school, which helped hone their skills. They first gained traction by uploading their mixes and performances on social media, which led to their first official gig on 28 October 2019 in Johannesburg.

Aside from their musical talents, Tarryn and Clairise are also involved in fashion modeling. Tarryn designs their performance outfits, reflecting their unique style and artistic vision. The duo cites inspiration from fashion icons such as Alessandro Michele, the creative director for Gucci, and global superstar Rihanna.

During an interview with GQ South Africa in November 2022, the duo revealed that they had sold out shows across 22 countries, including major cities like Dubai and London.

The year 2024 marked a significant milestone for TxC as they signed a recording contract with Love Renaissance (LVRN), a United States-based record label distributed through The Orchard (Sony Music). This label is known for housing prominent artists such as 6lack and Summer Walker.
